1996 Silver 4dr Hardtop Hummer:
This was my first Hummer. I actually bought it twice! Once in January 2000, traded it in on the first 2000 Yellow Wagon, and then again in August 2000 from the guy the dealer sold it to. Nuts huh?
This Hummer came fully equipped. The 2nd owner had put on running boards which were quickly removed ($900 too!) since they impose on the 16" of Hummer ground clearance. I was happy that this Hummer had a gasoline 350 engine in it rather than the 6.5L diesel since 1994-1999 for diesel engines in Hummers wasn't that great for reliability (In 2000 they corrected this problem, and in 1992/1993 they used a 6.2L diesel engine which didn't have these issues).
Modifications I did:
- MT Tires ($1000)
- Aluminum Rims ($1000)
- Raised Snorkel ($375)
- Knee Panel ($200)
- Garmin Color GPS (Global Positioning System) ($650)
- Madera Concepts Wood Trim Interior ($2850)
- Leather Seats ($1100)
- Electric Seat Heaters for front seats ($500)
- Lev-O-Gauge ($9 each, qty(2))
What did this Hummer cost? About $50,000 after all the modifications were completed.
